Located in the historic Steinman Hardware Building, The Pressroom has all of the charm and excitement for a perfect dining experience.
The dining room maintains the beauty of the building dating to the mid 1700’s. As you enter, the warm feeling of mahogany surrounds you as you are guided to a cozy booth or a table by the window. During the summer months, our guests may enjoy dinner in Steinman Park.
The menu is seasonal and includes daily specials. It features great burgers with crispy fries, fresh salads, seafood, beef and pork entrees as well as creative sandwiches. Don’t miss the specialty flatbreads, freshly baked in our classic pizza oven. The signature desserts will end your meal on a sweet note. The bar is perfect for a night out with friends including a daily happy hour. Toast with frosty draft beers, wines by the glass and an elevated selection of craft cocktails.
HISTORY
Vacant for years after the Steinman Hardware store closed after 221 years in business, The Pressroom opened in 1995 and has been serving downtown Lancaster diners since. The original owners decided to close it permanently in April 2022 after a difficult pandemic and to focus on the core of their business: operating Lancaster Newspaper and its affiliates.
In July 2022, Central PA based O.N.E. Hospitality announced that they will be re-opening the long time Lancaster institution that served diners for over 25 years.
The Park Bar is closed for the season.
Because of the unpredictability of Mother Nature, we do not accept reservations for the Park Bar. However, you can make a reservation for indoor dining and note that you prefer to sit in the Park Bar and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
ABOUT THE PARK BAR
Tucked away in Lancaster’s Steinman Park courtyard, Park Bar is a perfect outdoors setting to enjoy creative cocktails, beer and wine. It’s central location and 20-foot tall waterfall fountain creates an ideal atmosphere for a relaxing dinner. On weekends, the vibe transforms into a lively hangout as friends and family gather to socialize.
